Monroe Oxygen & Medical Supplies was established in 2001 as a division of American Home Respiratory Care, a New York corporation locally owned by John B. Velekkakan. Mr. Velekkakan has worked in home care for a number of years. He decided to create a company that puts quality patient care above all else. His staff is hand-picked based on personal reference and their reputation in the community. Above all else they are passionate about home care, and live up to our creed to always be Patient Centered, Patient Focused, and Patient Driven.

Executive Team

John B. Velekkakan, MA, MDiv – President and CEO
Mr. Velekkakan is the President, Chief Executive Officer, and sole shareholder of American Home Respiratory Care (dba Monroe Oxygen & Medical Supplies & Medical Equipment). He is, and will continue to be, a full time employee of the company in charge of all business aspects of the corporation. Mr. Velekkakan has been an entrepreneur for most of his professional career. He started selling fax machines long before they became the office fixture they are today. One of his first customers was Paychex founder and CEO Tom Golisano.

From 1996 to 1999, Mr. Velekkakan was an oxygen salesman for the Rochester office of Mercy Medical Systems, based in Buffalo, New York. He later became the Managing Director for Rochester Oxygen and Home Respiratory Care, also based in Buffalo. Mr. Velekkakan has extensive contacts and strong established relationships with the Rochester physician community. This is very important to the growth of the company, as the majority of patients are gained through physician referral. Healthcare providers have long indicated a strong preference for utilizing problems arise. Additionally, Mr. Velekkakan is an active member of the local Indian community, with many physicians as members as well.

Mr. Velekkakan has undergraduate and graduate degrees from Niagara University, and a Master of Divinity graduate degree from St. Bernard’s Seminary.

Toni Nolletti - Office Manager
Ms. Nolletti is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the administrative office, including billing and claims processing.

Ms. Nolletti comes to us with more than 11 years experience processing Medicare, Medicaid, Compensation for a variety of Medical organizations. She has previously held positions as Collections Coordinator

Key Staff

David Clawson – Coordinator of Technical Services
The company has hired Mr. Clawson to manage its equipment needs. He is in charge of purchasing, delivering and maintenance of oxygen equipment. In addition, Mr. Clawson delivers equipment to new patients, does the initial setup, and instructs the patient on its proper use and maintenance. This role is extremely important because the medical technician (driver), along with the Respiratory Therapist, typically have the only personal contact with a patient. Mr. Clawson brings more than 12 years experience working with home care companies as an oxygen technician and manager.

Greig Putnam - Technical Services

Ann Putnam – Customer Care and Billing
Ms. Putnam is primarily responsible for billing and claims processing for our company

Ms. Putnam comes to us with more than 16 years experience with medical billing and customer service. She is well educated in all aspects of claims management and accounts receivables. She has managed offices in many medical specialties, including OB/GYN, Ophthalmology, and Radiology. She looks forward to working with our patients to ensure all aspects of their experience with our company, including billing, remain positive and enjoyable.
